JP/W Dinosaur Asks

I always felt connected to the Jurassic park raptors like you did and thought I was a raptor but actually looking into info about raptors I’m not sure it matches me? Most of them are small and so feathery(idk if I am or not) .. the big utahrapror is kinda warm blooded too and I know I’m cold blooded .. I know I’m bipedel and my arms reach out like a raptor … I have big claws maybe? Grabby hands with multiple fingers .. maybe would live in packs .. omnivore?.. idk what I am .. do U have any ideas?

Daski replied:

take a look at JP media outside the movies, there’s a LOT of different raptor hybrids in Jurassic World Alive, and theres even a couple in Jurassic World Evolution.

also look into the old toy lines–there’s one that wasnt very popular called Chaos Theory, iirc. all the dinos are Hybrids, maybe you’ll find something there?

HII FELLOW RAPTOR :3 so !! were there also any like physical/mental things you’ve done that made you realize that you’re a raptor? For me I have a weird feeling of needing to protect/care for eggs, bite, want to eat inedible objects/food not for humans, hoard things especially shiny things, make dens/nests, it feeling natural to walk/stand like a raptor, randomly making dino noises out of instinct, and loving warmth/heat while being very easily effected by the cold .. some of these aren’t dino specific but I like to say relate to my kintype! Tbh dinos were never my favorite animal but I always felt a connection to dino shaped(esp raptor shaped) creatures! I’ve always wanted to keep my teeth and nails sharp too kwbsjeb

-bornks!!-

i was attached at the hip to Jurassic Park as a kid. something something, attracted to the familiar. i roared, i bit, i walked like a theropod. i always wanted tougher teeth, and long nails, but had a bad nail-biting habit as a kid (that i now know the cause of and have stopped, but i also found out that my human body doesnt like the sensation of really long nails, so rip me :c) i also attribute my need* for warmth and humidity to both my godkin and indoraptor types o/ considering both are from wet/humid/(sub)tropical areas. even after acting like a dinosaur was literally beaten out of me, walking shifts and the (previously) inexplicable subconscious need for my body to hold my big toe off the ground, never went away. i’ve ruined many shoes this way. nail tapping also continued to be a necessary stim–i realized that this was because it was a method communication for me as an indoraptor.

i actually fluctuated between favorite dinos as a kid! it went from rex (”bc the raptors are too ~smol~”) to raptor (”i just think they’re neat” meme) and back and forth, and it wasnt until i encountered the indoraptor that i knew why.

(*for legal reasons, i know my body is just how it is and needs the things it needs bc it’s an individual with a randomized genetic pool, dont @ me)

I identify as a non-cannon Jurassic World dinosaur. You don’t see me in the movies or games. I think I may have been created to have a more “exotic” or what we suspect currently is up-to-date look for some dinos, because I have feathers. Figuring all this out is interesting, but strange since I am new to fictionkin concepts.

I am not sure where to go with my self discovery or how to approach noemata as I gain them. Any advice?

Daski replied:

oooh, it’s always exciting to meet other Jurassic dinos :D i have a thought–there’s speculation (and i believe there’s leaked images too?) of feathered theropods being included in Jurassic World Extinction. it’s just a thought, since it’s so early, and you absolutely know yourself better than i do.

Jurassic is one of my hyperfoci, so i do a fair bit of thinking and reading about the world and the dinosaurs and the politics, and the “what ifs”. Most of the noema I have are from such thought sessions. being non-canon is probably my favorite part of being an indoraptor, because i get to break the mold. i get to sit here and hold up two flash cards, (one being canon, one being my own thoughts on MY canon) and go “which one of these feels more correct”, rather than being upset that i dont uphold the strictness of canon. canon is a jumping-off point.

my suggestion would be to do some introspection on how you are you. how do you have feathers, where do they connect–if you can feel that? what TYPE of feathers–what animal’s genes were used to make your feathers? what are your feelings on InGen or Lockewood–do you feel one of them made you, or perhaps one of the buyers from FK? Do you feel like you were caged, or did you have a pen? how do you feel about being a genetic grab bag? sometimes the hard questions lead us to the most important answers.also, being a genetic grab bag means that you could have anything in you–what things feel like you, that could be included in your genome?. im questioning what type of BIRDS were in my genome, regardless of how much crocodile was in me, because when i feel indo shifty i mimic very well.

i like to watch klayton because he delves into Jurassic topics that dont come up or dont get touched on enough. responding with my own thoughts on his videos helps me ask my own questions. “how smart WAS i as an indo?”
