I got to thinking due to this post, and i want to show that “legitimate otherkins” DO benefit and employ the usage of “low kins”!!

i wanted to make it visual but how i would describe this chart in “tiers” would be:

“me IRL”: river, indoraptor, lion / snake, crocodile

“low kin”: angel, faehunter

(to use the sensationalized terms lol sorry for any raised hackles)

think of the image as a sort of venn diagram. the shapes are used to symbolize “as” vs “with”.

in its basest form, my identity is always river, overlaid by lion.

indoraptor often overlaps significantly, but sometimes doesnt at all though it’s still there.

angel and faehunter overlap when triggered.

because i dont identify as my hearttype and synpath, but they’re close to me, they dont touch the main circles

lugia is still ???????????? to me lol

“partial” identity is a part of the otherkin definition that we all know, but as the post linked states, we often forget about it! my theory is that so much of our community is focused on the wholeness of identity that we forget about partial identities, whether through internalized or externalized respectability politics, or being made to feel like the partiality isnt “good enough”.

partiality is a part of life! embrace it!

updated with discoveries since i last put this together, but i wanted to share this again bc i feel like it’s a good visual!

changes: i realized that my faehunter ‘type is actually a kardiatype, because i dont actively identify as a faehunter, but my thoughts, habits, and instincts are influenced by it. my psychological angel kintype remains similar, but is no longer a vaguetype
